Andria D. Whyte Walters is an Attorney-at-Law. She is the founder and Principal at WHYTE WALTERS LAW, a full-service law firm in Jamaica. A fierce and fearless Advocate, she is guided by her personal motto; “A Voice for the Voiceless, A Shield for the Defenceless, An Advocate for ALL”. Andria has appeared in several Courts in Jamaica, namely the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Parish Courts and is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association (JAMBAR).
As Chairman of the Board of Commissioners at the Anti-dumping and Subsidies Commission (ADSC), Andria is focused on ensuring that Jamaica’s legislative policies, along with the ADSC’s public education mandate to defend our local industries from injury or threat of injury from predatory international trade practices are given effect; while also supporting mutually beneficial trade agreements with the global community. Andria’s legal background and extensive business experience, along with her technical knowledge in monitoring and evaluation, will serve to advance Jamaica’s trade agenda.
Meticulous, efficient, results-driven and dedicated, Andria has a passion for public service that extends to social and economic justice and equity. Her keen sense of fairness and justice extends to governance and public policy, and she has helped to formulate policies leading to the successful implementation of key environmental, socio-economic, infrastructure, and education projects in furtherance of Jamaica’s sustainable development. Mrs. Whyte Walters strives to make a positive impact in her community and also contributes to the justice system as a Justice of the Peace, Mediator and Restorative Justice Facilitator.
Andria loves Jamaica. She believes that she has a duty to help make Jamaica be the “biggest little country in the world”. She serves as a member of the Boards of Airports Authority of Jamaica and the Jamaica Business Development Corporation.
Andria obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours from the University of London and her Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School (NMLS). While at NMLS, she distinguished herself as a member of the celebrated team that won the Qatar International Cyber-security Law Moot Competition in Doha, Qatar in 2018. She was a mentor to first year students and was nominated by her peers to be Class Speaker (Valedictorian) of the 2020 graduating class.
Andria is enrolled at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) at the University of the West Indies in the Master of Science Programme in Development Studies – Governance and Public Policy. In her spare time, she likes to read, travel, go horseback riding, and practice martial arts.
