FORENSIC FINANCIAL ANALYST/FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Mr. Galloway is the Forensic and Financial Analyst to the Anti-Dumping and Subsidies Commission (ADSC), a portfolio agency of the Ministry of Industry Investment and Commerce. (MICAF). He has over 15 years’ experience in Financial Management, Financial Analysis, Auditing and Risk Management. He is responsible for performing analysis of financial data submitted as part of cases filed with the Commission. Mr. Galloway is also responsible for the management of the Commission’s accounting and finance functions.
Mr. Galloway began his career in auditing as part of the external audit team at PricewaterhouseCoopers. After a brief stint in internal audit in he joined the Financial Services Commission as a regulator for the insurance sector. He later joined the GraceKennedy Group, where he rose to Assistant Vice President of Risk Management in the financial group. Immediately prior to joining the ADSC, he was the Chief Financial Officer of a start-up entity in the microfinance sector.
At the ADSC, Mr Galloway works closely with the team to analyse case submissions and prepare recommendations for action by the Commission; conducting and preparing research on trade remedies and developing the strategic and operational plans for the Commission. His key area of focus includes evaluation of accounting records, analysing and validating costs data and review of financial statements submitted during trade remedy investigations to ensure accuracy, reliability and conformance with generally accepted accounting principles. He is responsible for the performance verification investigations and the provision of technical guidance on methodologies to be employed in analysis of cases.
Mr. Galloway holds an BSc Degree (Hons) in Accounting and Management Studies from the University of the West Indies; Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society Jamaica.
