Andrew Mighty MSc, BSc, PDE, Senior Economist at the Anti-Dumping and Subsidies Commission, is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona ans the University of Technology, Jamaica.
As the Senior Economist, Andrew Mighty is an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team of senior technical analyst. His core responsibilities include:
- Collecting,verifying and critically analyzing qualitative and quantitative issues in investigations, such as injury and dumping margins, estimating the amount of duties, complex trade and financial data, prices, production, exchange rate, international trade statistics, international economic statistics.
- Applying the analytical and policy framework for economic research in accordance with governing trade remedies law, other international law and micro-economic principles.
- Implementing procedures to conduct trade remedy cases based upon rules international trade.
- Performing general international economic trade research and analysis
Before beginning his tenure at the Anti-Dumping and Commission, Mr. Mighty, worked at the University of technology, Jamaica, where he lectured primarily Economics, Accounting and Management in Business and Computer Studies Programme in the faculty of Education and Liberal Studies. He served on the boards of Faculty of Business and Management and the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies and was the Chairman of the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies’ Student Affairs Committee. He has Written and presented scholarly papers. His research interests include international Business Management , International Trade, International Competitiveness and Factor Productivity. In addition, he has worked with the CARICOM Secretariat in the capacity of a consultant, sat on the board of the Jamaica Racing Commission and was a member of a team that evaluated bids for the divestment of the Caymanas Track Ltd.
